Politics + Religion = ?????
What makes a better blogging topic other than the good old Politics and Religion?! Which was also precisely what I discussed (and debated) about with a couple of friends with opposing opinions in both topics (AND they are vegetarians too…Golly, did I flex some muscles)

Congressman Kennedy, a Catholic by faith, is also a pro-choice being. As in, he disagrees with denying the people of this country the choice of having an abortion.
(Let’s give a little background of the term, pro-choice. The definition of pro-choice used in terms of abortion, is about the choice of an abortion, not about whether abortion itself should be judged as a sin or not. So to clarify, you can be against abortion, but at the same time, you can also agree to give people that choice of having one, therefore, you can be pro-choice without being pro-abortion. Such as, just because I don’t believe that god exists, doesn’t mean I shouldn’t allow you to believe so.)
So Congressman Kennedy, being a Catholic, is EXPECTED by the church to believe that abortion is a sin as is believed by the Catholic Church. And by believing that abortion is a sin, Catholics is also EXPECTED not to be pro-choice. Unfortunately, because Congressman Kennedy is actually pro-choice, he is now denied communion every Sunday. (nb:-, I do NOT actually know if Congressman Kennedy is pro-abortion. So please understand that there is a difference between pro-choice and pro-abortion.) Arguments used by the Bishop was that if you support abortion, you can’t claim to be a Catholic.
I think there are 2 mistakes here made by the Bishop. The first one is pretty obvious, which is how it is widely misunderstood that being pro-choice necessarily means being pro-abortion. The second one is much more of a biased view from my opinion. And that is, what right does a Catholic have, to judge a human being’s opinions and actions? As a matter of fact, a Catholic has LESS RIGHT to judge a human action, than a non-religious person does. If you are truly a believer of G-d, then you should know that the only person / thing / whatever that does the judging is G-d. Not you. Not a Catholic who prays every night, nor a Bishop and certainly not the Pope. The Bible teaches forgiveness, hence there is such thing as confession. So if a person really is pro-abortion and is classified as a sinner, why can the church be so unforgiving and judge on behalf of G-d? Where’s the act of love that this Jesus character extended to prostitutes and drug addicts?
Mind you, I am not here to debate whether the Church even interpreted the Bible or the message of G-d correctly. I’m merely taking what the Church believes in, and crumbling it up because all these almighty Catholics think they are better than others. Obviously not all Catholics are like that, but it’s usually the fanatic ones that make headline news and I am picking on those.
I have always believed that politics should not involve religion. If Catholics don’t agree with abortion, then teach it within its religious believers. Don’t go preach to politicians and non-believers. Let the politicians do what is right for a democratic country without your biased influence. Please.
Now, since I am not a Catholic, nor a Christian, I don’t believe that judging is the job of a higher being. So excuse me if you would because I can legitimately go do some judging and that is what I’m going to do right now. Afterall, judging is a tough job and you got to help lighten up the load of that big guy up there. I need to go judge the Bishop who thought he was so smart. Night!
